Width Fitting

Designed for comfort, easy dressing and adaptable support, Anthony 609-ORZ-UNI is a unisex wide-fit orthopedic shoe suitable for a wide range of individual footwear needs.

The combination of elastic laces and an adjustable Velcro strap allows the shoe to open widely, making it easier to put on, take off and adjust. This can be especially helpful for people with reduced hand strength or dexterity, as well as anyone who finds conventional footwear difficult to fasten.

The wide fit construction and generous internal space provide additional room for different foot shapes and can accommodate a range of orthotic devices, including AFOs, KAFOs, Reflex AFOs and other orthoses, depending on individual fitting requirements.

A soft, seamless natural leather interior helps reduce unwanted pressure and friction, while the supportive orthopedic construction provides comfort, stability and a secure fit for everyday wear.

Anthony is particularly suitable for:

  • People who wear AFOs, KAFOs, Reflex AFOs or other orthoses

  • Those who require wide or extra-roomy footwear

  • Individuals with reduced hand strength or dexterity

  • People who find conventional shoes difficult to put on or fasten

  • Users who need additional space for orthotics or individual fitting requirements

  • Anyone looking for comfortable, supportive and easy-to-wear orthopedic footwear

  • Arthritis
  • Diabetes
  • Men
  • Suitable For Orthotics
  • Women
  • Upper: Calf leather, soft and natural
  • Lining: Full leather lining, no seams inside
  • Depth: Wide and deep K last; around 4 mm adjustable through the insole choice
  • Fitting: Wide and deep 4E, built on the K last
  • Closure: Elastic laces plus an adjustable touch-fasten strap; opens wide
  • Sole: Semi-rigid EVA sole, slip-resistant tread; firm heel and arch, limited forefoot flex
  • Insoles: Two in the box, both removable — a 10 mm arch-and-metatarsal-dome insole and a 6 mm slim one

  • Before cleaning Anthony 609-ORZ-UNI, remove the orthosis and selected footbed, then brush loose debris from the wide shoe opening.
  • Wipe the calf-leather upper with a well-wrung cloth and use a small amount of black polish away from the elastic laces and strap.
  • Check the initial footwear-and-orthosis combination in short indoor sessions, reassessing the opening, depth and strap setting each time.
  • Air the shoe, removable footbed and orthosis separately after use, following the device maker's own care guidance for the orthosis.
  • If the semi-rigid EVA outsole becomes wet, leave the whole shoe to dry naturally and do not place it on a radiator or heated floor.
  • Keep the elastic laces threaded, clear lint from the touch-fastening panel and close the strap lightly before storage.
  • Inspect the inside for grit, folded material or displaced components before each fitting, particularly when the wearer has reduced sensation.

  • Free tracked shipping with delivery in 2 working days.
  • Hassle-free returns and exchanges within 30 days.
  • Return postage costs are the customer’s responsibility.

Anthony 609-ORZ-UNI: Made to Take an AFO

Anthony is the specialist unisex option for fitting around a suitable AFO, KAFO or other orthosis. Assess the device, chosen footbed and strap setting together, as compatibility depends on the individual combination.

Broad Opening for an Orthosis
Releasing the strap allows the elastic-laced upper to spread so the foot and suitable device can be introduced from above.
Elastic Laces with One Strap
The laces can remain threaded while the touch-fastening band provides the final adjustment.
K-Last Depth for a Footplate
Removing a footbed creates space for a compatible moulded or Reflex AFO plate, depending on the individual combination.
Two Removable Footbeds
Use the 10 mm contoured option without a brace or the supplied 6 mm insole when less underfoot thickness is required.
Smooth Leather Lining
The seam-free interior reduces prominent ridges where the orthosis or foot meets the shoe.
Supportive Sole for a Stable Base
The moulded sole provides a structured base beneath the foot and compatible device. The heel and arch stay firm for support, while the forefoot allows a small amount of flex.

  • Breathable Natural Leather: Soft, breathable leather encourages airflow, helping feet remain cool and comfortable.
  • Shock Absorption: The cushioned sole helps soften impact and support more comfortable walking.
  • Removable Insoles: Insoles can be removed or replaced with custom orthotics where required.
